Day 2 - Boston Sightseeing & Salem Cross Inn Fireside Feast

Enjoy free time for lunch at the lively Faneuil Hall Marketplace, a historic gathering place since 1742 and long celebrated as “The Cradle of Liberty.” This afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside as autumn colors deepen en route to West Brookfield. The evening brings a truly memorable experience at the Salem Cross Inn with its famous 1700s-style Fireplace Feast. Dinner is prepared before your eyes over an open hearth in a grand fieldstone fireplace—watch chowder simmer in cast-iron kettles, see prime rib slowly roasting on the only authentic Roasting Jack in America, and finish with warm apple pie topped with freshly whipped cream. Day 3 - Vermont Countryside, Manchester & Hildene

Highlights include the meticulously restored 1903 Pullman railcar Sunbeam, once used by the Lincoln family, along with engaging exhibits that bring this remarkable American story to life. Later, journey north through Vermont’s scenic countryside before checking into the DoubleTree by Hilton South Burlington for a relaxing two-night stay. Enjoy a planned dinner together this evening.

Day 4 - Vermont Maple Farm, von Trapp Family Lodge & Mount Mansfield Gondola

Travel through rolling countryside to one of Vermont’s family-owned maple sugar houses, where you’ll learn how this iconic local tradition is carried on. Enjoy a lively maple sugaring demonstration and sample pure Vermont maple syrup—an authentic taste of the Green Mountain State. Continue north along scenic mountain roads to the iconic von Trapp Family Lodge, perched high above the charming village of Stowe and surrounded by sweeping alpine views and vibrant fall foliage. The hills truly come alive with a special visit to this famed retreat. As Maria von Trapp once said, “Our life is like a beautiful story that happens to be true,” and that spirit is felt throughout the lodge and its breathtaking setting. Enjoy a delightful Austrian-themed buffet lunch inspired by Old World traditions. This afternoon, experience one of Vermont’s most unforgettable highlights with a gondola ride up Mount Mansfield, the highest peak in the state.
