DAY
1
Arrive at Logan International Airport in Boston early
afternoon. Transfer to your hotel included. Welcome reception
and dinner is planned for this evening with your tour
director. Meet your fellow passengers for the start of
your journey. (D) DAY 2
Following breakfast you will make your way to Cape Cod.
Arrive in Woods Hole for a ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard.
You will have to time to tour and explore this island
of kaleidoscope candy-colored gingerbread homes, pristine
beaches, unique shops and stately white mansions. This
charming island has several towns to explore. Dinner
is included on the island and then you will board the
ferry to the mainlands where you will check in for the
next three evenings. (B, D)
DAY 3
Travel the high speed ferry to the "gray lady of
the sea", Nantucket. You will be whisked to this
quaint island with its cobblestone streets and beautiful
sea captains homes that is well known for its whaling
industry. You will also visit the fascinating Whaling
Museum to catch a glimpse of a lost era. Return by high
speed ferry to the mainland. Free time this evening
to explore the area. (B)
DAY 4
We begin this day by touring Hyannis with views of the
St. Francis church, the JFK Memorial and the waterfront
area. You will then make your way to "land's end"
Provincetown. You will be treated to lighthouses and
the beautiful National Seashore along the way. See firsthand
the importance of the lighthouses that protected ships
from the treacherous shore between Provincetown and
Chatham. You will have free time in Provincetown for
lunch and enjoying the shops along Commercial Street.
This evening enjoy a dune buggy ride out to the dunes
of Provincetown; weather permitting you will be in for
a treat as you enjoy the sunset and a clam bake on the
beach (B, D).
DAY
5
Say farewell to Cape today and head to Aquidneck more
commonly known as Newport, Rhode Island. This area is
known for the turn of the century summer playground
of the elite society. You'll enjoy the 10 mile "mansion"
drive past the spectacular summer cottages and a visit
to one is planned. Late morning there will be time to
spend at Long Wharf for shopping and free time. Lunch
will be served today on Goat Island off Newport's shores.
A cruise on Newport's sparkling waters will provide
a wonderful afternoon venue. Late afternoon you will
stop at the Newport winery for a wine tasting before
heading back to your hotel. (B, L)
DAY 6
After a hearty breakfast board an early morning ferry
for a ride to the famous Block Island. This island is
12 miles off the coast and has been herald as 'one of
the twelve best unspoiled area in the Western Hemisphere"
This area has green rolling hills, dazzling beaches
and Victorian charm. Step back in time to a bygone era
and enjoy lunch in this charming island setting. (B,
L)
DAY 7
Say good-bye to Newport and head back to the Boston
area for your journey home. Please make travel arrangements
for after 2:00 pm. (B)

Nights 5 & 6: Holiday Inn

The
Holiday Inn Express is located just minutes from historic
downtown Newport. Local shopping and entertainment facilities
nearby and close proximity to the Newport Naval Base
and corporate parks.
The Newport Room accommodates up to 50 people for meetings
and social events, and Chili's Restaurant is on site
- open for lunch, dinner and cocktails.
