Day One
Arrive at Boston Logan Airport - Make your way to
the Sheraton Four Points from Airport, the transfer
is included. Meet your fellow passengers and tour
director at your get acquainted dinner this evening.

Day Two
Breakfast is included at the hotel before we check
out. Today we will enjoy a tour of Providence
RI Splayed across seven hills on the Providence
and Seekonk rivers, Providence was Rhode Island's
first settlement, founded "in commemoration
of God's providence" on land given to Roger
Williams by the Narragansett Indians (his insistence
that Indians should be paid for their land being
waived in his own case). Now New England's fourth
largest city, it has been the state capital since
1901, and flourished as one of the most important
ports of call in the notorious "triangle
trade," where New England rum was exchanged
for African slaves, who were then sold for West
Indian molasses. Enjoy a visit to the First Baptist
Church in Providence, this first Baptist Church
started out in the home of the founder Roger Williams.
We will continue onto Mystic Connecticut and enjoy
lunch at the Olde Mystic Village. Step back in
time to the 1700's Experience Early American charm
and beauty before our afternoon at the Olde Mystic
Seaport Museum. The 19th Century has never felt
more alive than in the Museum's galleries. We
will check into our area hotel and dinner will
be on our own this evening. (B)
Day
Three
Breakfast is included at the hotel before we check
out and depart for the Berkshire Hills. We will
travel though the Countryside of Connecticut to
Massachusetts and view the fabulous foliage colors.
View the beautiful hills and mountains, meandering
rivers and streams, shimmering lakes and crystal
clear brooks as you wind your way through villages
and towns full of charm and hospitality. Enjoy
lunch on your own before our afternoon visit to
the Norman Rockwell Museum this afternoon. The
Museum, located in Stockbridge, Massachusetts,
holds the world's largest and most significant
collection of works by Norman Rockwell, including
more than 700 paintings, drawings, and studies
and an archive of more than 150,000 photographs,
letters, and materials. We will overnight at the
Yankee Inn and enjoy Dinner.

Day Four
Breakfast is included at the Inn before we check
out and depart for Vermont. The first stop will
be Bennington nestled between the Taconic and
Green Mountains in Southwestern Vermont. This
area offers unsurpassed natural beauty and wonderful
opportunities to explore the treasures of scenic
Southern Vermont This morning a stop for a view
of the Bennington Battle Monument. The Bennington
Battle Monument, dedicated to the famous Battle
of Bennington that took place during the Revolutionary
war in 1777, is a 306' stone obelisk opened to
the public in 1891. Then continue north to Plymouth,
Vermont and visit the Calvin Coolidge Homestead.
The homestead remains exactly as it was the night
Coolidge took office. In fact, much of the village
of Plymouth Notch is unchanged since the early
20th century. The Calvin Coolidge State Historic
Site is considered one of the best preserved Presidential
sites in the nation. This afternoon enjoy some
free time in the quaint town of Woodstock before
continuing north to Stowe, where we will stay
for the next two nights at the Commodores Inn.

Day Five
This
morning, depart for a day of touring through the
Green Mountains. We'll first travel to Montpelier,
and view the Vermont State House and Historical
Society. Montpelier is the capital of Vermont
and the center of the state's insurance industry.
The smallest and possibly most livable of United
States capital cities, Montpelier is a cosmopolitan
and dignified oasis in a rural and scenic setting.
The city's downtown is on the National and State
Registers of Historic Places, and Inc. magazine
recently named it the Top Small City for Doing
Business in the United States. We continue our
touring to Stowe to view Mount Mansfield Mountain
with its peaks abound offering some of the state's
most impressive natural scenery. Mt. Mansfield
stands at 4,393 feet and is the tallest peak in
Vermont. This afternoon visit Cold Hollow Cider
Mill. This Cider Mill is one of the top producers
of Fresh Apple Cider in all of New England. They
also are one of the very few that press year-round.
The Mill has become one of the top tourist attractions
in Vermont because the operation is open to public
viewing. See the production of their cider and
sample many fine Vermont products. On to the Cabot
Creamery Annex and Green Mountain Chocolate Annex
for samples of these delicious treats too! We
will return to our hotel and enjoy dinner on own
this evening. (B)
Day Six
This morning enjoy breakfast before we say farewell
to Vermont and journey into the White Mountains
of New Hampshire. Arrive to New Hampshire's famous
and historic "grand hotels", The Mount
Washington Hotel, a grand masterpiece of Spanish
Renaissance architecture, The Mount Washington
Hotel was a two-year labor of love for 250 master
craftsmen. Conceived by industrialist Joseph Stickney,
this National Historic Landmark opened in 1902
and immediately became a favorite summer haunt
for poets, presidents and princes. Enjoy a tour
of this Grand Dame before partaking in a bountiful
buffet luncheon in the main dining room. This
afternoon we will visit the Cogg Railway Visitor
Center. This was the world's first mountain-climbing
cog railway and today it's the only one still
powered entirely by steam. Visit the museum and
possibly watch the cog travel to the top of Mount
Washington. We will overnight in the White Mountain
area of New Hampshire for this evening. Dinner
will be on own this evening. (B,L)
Day Seven
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we check out
and depart for 'downeast' Maine where the state
motto is 'the way life should be'! We'll begin
with a tour of the largest City in Maine - Portland.
The Old Port Exchange on the thriving waterfront
was the heart of Portland's busy 19th century
commercial ventures and continues to be the center
of activity today. We'll visit the Portland Head
Light which guards the entrance to Casco Bay.
Commissioned by George Washington, it is one of
the oldest continuously operating lights in the
country. Then it's on to the popular summer resort
of Kennebunkport. Its quaint setting appeals to
artists, writers and Presidents. Enjoy a scenic
drive along the ocean to Walker's Point which
passes the well-known summer home of past President
George Bush. Dock Square in the center of town
offers a variety of galleries and craft shops.
Continue on to the seaside village of Ogunquit
- named by the Abenaki Indians which means, "Beautiful
place by the sea". We will overnight at the
Meadowmere Resort in Ogunquit and enjoy a traditional
lobster dinner. (B, LD)
Day Eight
Breakfast
is included at the hotel. We will depart this
morning for York to view the Cape Neddick Light,
popularly know as "the Nubble". We will
then travel onto Massachusetts and visit the coastal
town of Salem, It may be most widely known as
the site of the Salem witchcraft trials of 1692,
but this colorful, coastal city has much to offer
both residents and visitors: a culturally diverse
population, a rich maritime heritage, an impressive
display of historic architecture and amazing stories
that span almost four centuries. A final visit
to the House of Seven Gables will be a complete
way to end your tour and taste of New England.
