ITINERARY:
DAY 1
Welcome to New England! Arrive to our Portland,
ME hotel for the evening where we'll meet Professional
Tour Director and enjoy a refreshing welcome reception.
Enjoy a savory welcome dinner this evening. (D)
DAY 2
This morning an early breakfast will is served
before an early boarding on The CAT High-speed
ferry, for a 5 1/2 hour cruise to Yarmouth, Nova
Scotia. Try your luck in the casino, shop in the
duty-free gift shop or simply relax on the open
sea. Once in Yarmouth, disembark and enjoy a scenic
ride along the Evangeline Trail. Arrive to our
resort on the trail for an overnight stay. Relax
and enjoy the surrounding before a savory dinner
tonight. (B, D)
DAY 3
This morning after breakfast, we'll visit GRAND
PRE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE; 14 acres of landscaped
grounds which were established in memory for all
the Acadians, Nova Scotia's first French settlers,
who were deported to British Settlements throughout
the North America. View Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's
statue depicting the fictional heroine in his
epic poem "Evangeline." Mid morning,
arrive in Halifax to visit the Halifax Citadel
National Historic Site. This star shaped fortification
was completed in 1856 and stands on a hill overlooking
downtown. Designed to block a land-based attack,
this fort actually was never attacked. From here,
we will tour Halifax visiting the Fairview Lawn
Cemetery. Here many victims of the tragic sinking
of the Titanic lie in rest. Take some time to
stroll through the beautifully manicured Halifax
Public Gardens. This afternoon, check into our
Halifax hotel for the evening. Enjoy dinner this
evening. (B, D)
DAY 4
This morning check out of the hotel and depart
for the enchanting seaside fishing village of
Peggy's Cove for a delicious breakfast. This village
is quite well known to many artists for its picturesque
ocean setting. Visit Peggy's Cove Light - the
only light of its kind as it doubles as Peggy's
Cove post office. We will depart Halifax traveling
along the rocky shores of Marine Drive viewing
magnificent sites the rocky coast line and pastoral
beaches of this eastern shore route. Travel through
Antigonish before arriving onto Cape Breton Island
to the village of Baddeck where we'll check in
for the next two evenings. A delicious dinner
will be prepared for us tonight. (B, D)
DAY
5
This morning after a hearty breakfast, we'll visit
the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. This museum
houses the largest collection photographs, artifacts,
and personal effects to the inventor of the telephone.
We'll begin our journey along the glorious Cape
Breton Highlands National Park. The Cabot Trail
is considered one of the most scenic byways in
the world with its magnificent mountains, coastal
wilderness and ever changing sea scapes. We'll
make plenty of photo stops along the way as well
as visits to native craft shops. Enjoy a picnic
lunch on the trail. Enjoy another savory dinner
tonight.

DAY 6
Following breakfast, we'll depart Cape Breton
Island for Prince Edward Island. We'll cross the
Northumberland Strait via ferry service arriving
in Wood Islands. Upon arrival to the island, we
visit Founder's Hall, the birthplace of Confederation.
We'll arrive to our Island hotel for the next
two evenings. After you've had time to relax and
freshen up, we'll enjoy a delightful dinner in
the dining room before a performance at the Confederation
Center of the Arts this evening. (B, D)
DAY 7
This morning following breakfast, we'll be met
by our step on guide for a full day's tour of
this picture perfect Island. First, begin with
a tour of Charlottetown, this historic town with
many of its buildings kept up to keep their 19th
century charm. From Charlottetown, we'll depart
for the north shore traveling through "Anne's
Land" viewing the beautiful red sandy beaches
and pastoral country sides. This drive along the
shore is among the most beautiful on the island.
Visit the Anne of Green Gables Museum and enjoy
a carriage ride. Tonight savor a traditional P.E.I.
Lobster Supper. (B, D)
DAY 8
After a hearty breakfast, we'll bid farewell to
Prince Edward Island as we cross over the Confederation
Bridge into New Brunswick. We'll visit Magnetic
Hill, Canada's third most visited natural attraction.
Gravity is defied as the motor coach seems to
amazingly roll uphill in neutral! We continue
onto Fredericton and enjoy a visit to KING'S LANDING
where dinner and entertainment will be included
before checking into our hotel for the night.

DAY
9
Following Breakfast we'll leave Canada behind,
crossing into Maine at one of the busiest border
crossings between the States and Canada. Soon
after crossing the border, we again cross into
Canada to visit CAMPELLO, Franklin D. Roosevelt's
summer home and retreat. One of the only internationally
managed parks; it combines the United States and
Canada in a unique alliance. Enjoy a tour of his
home and time to stroll the magnificent grounds.
Continue on to Bar Harbor and visit CADILLAC MOUNTAIN
before checking into our hotel for the evening.
Enjoy a farewell dinner. (B, D)
DAY 10
Following Breakfast this morning, travel through
the heart of New England on our journey to Boston.
This afternoon, arrive at the airport as we depart
for home taking with us many fond memories of
our journey throughout the Canadian Maritimes.

Night 9: Wonderview - Bar Harbor, ME
Wonder

estate of Mary Roberts Rinehart, famous writer
